Anesthesia of dogs and cats for dental surgery
Anesthesia for oral cavity procedures in dogs and cats is a mandatory procedure that reduces stress, fear, anxiety and pain during the surgery. In order to ensure appropriate sleep and pain-free experience for the patient while minimizing the risk of complications, it is advisable to go beyond routine regimens of intravenous or inhaled drugs and incorporate local anesthesia. This article discusses the most important aspects of general anesthesia and nerve block techniques in the oral cavity in dogs and cats being prepared for various dental operations.
