SUMMARY
Protein-losing enteropathy in a dog – case report
This case report focuses on a dog with chronic diarrhoea and vomiting who was diagnosed with hypoalbuminemia manifested by the presence of an abdominal exudate. The work-up included a full panel of blood tests, abdominal ultrasound, stool examination for parasites, gastrointestinal tract endoscopy and a histopathological examination of biopsies from the stomach and duodenal wall. Treatment addressed the cause of the symptoms and resulted in a good clinical effect within a short time.
